This is kind of the world that we live in now, a world stuck in fast-forward.
我们现在所处的就是这样一个世界：一个被速度遗忘的世界。stuck in fast-forward 指快节奏的世界。
A world obsessed with speed, with doing everything faster, with cramming more and more into less and less time.
一个沉迷速度的世界：每件事情都越办越快，让越来越多的时间里塞进越来越少的内容。
Every moment of the day feels like a race against the clock.
每时每刻都感觉在和时间赛跑。
Slow is taking the time to eat a meal with your family, with TV switched off.
慢下来就是花些时间和家人吃饭，关着电视和手机，专心享受正餐。
Or taking the time to look at a problem from all angles in the office to make the best decision at work.
也许是花点心思在办公室里从各种角度审视一个问题，从而做出明智的决定。
Or even simply just taking the time to slow down and savour your life.

STEP 04 · 看词汇解释和拓展知识

✅ 词汇解释与拓展

🍀 stuck in /stʌk ɪn/ 表示被困住、陷在某种状态或环境中。

“stuck in” 后面接名词，表示被困在某个状态或环境里。

例句：

“The car is stuck in the mud.”（汽车被卡在泥里了。）

“She has been stuck in a dead-end job.”（她好像在一份没有前途的工作中。）

🍀 obsessed with /əbˈsest wɪð/ 表示对某事痴迷、着迷。

obsessed 过去分词，意思是“着迷于、痴迷于”。

例句：

“I'm obsessed with this show and spend hours watching it.”

“The fans are obsessed with the new TV series and can't stop talking about it.”

“He is obsessed with fitness and spends hours at the gym every day.”

🍀 cram /kræm/ 塞满、填满。

动词，通常表示把很多东西塞进很小的空间，或在很短时间里填进很多内容。

例句：

“He crammed all his clothes into a small suitcase.”

“I crammed for the exam all night.”（我临考前整夜抱佛脚。）

“I'm always cramming last-minute.”
